Crypto Principles, Artfully Embedded

In every HODL DESIGN piece, legendary principles of the crypto community merge with high-quality fashion:

Not your keys, not your coins – an appeal for personal responsibility and security.

The abbreviations DYOR (“Do Your Own Research”), SAFU (“Secure Asset Fund for Users”) and WAGMI (“We're All Gonna Make It”) stand for knowledge, protection and the collective optimism of the scene.

This makes crypto assets not only visible but also portable.

HODL DESIGN – More than a statement

Finely crafted lines between the HODL and Bitcoin logo symbolize the indestructible connection of the blockchain.

Every design element reminds you to take responsibility, trust in technology, and take a stand as part of the community.

"I AM HODLING"

I AM HODLING - The curious origin of the HODL term

The term " HODL " originated from an amusing typo made by a user on the popular Bitcoin forum "bitcointalk" in 2013. At that time, the Bitcoin price experienced a spectacular rise from under $15 in January to over $1,100 by early December of that year. However, on December 18, 2013, the Bitcoin price fell by nearly 40% in just 24 hours, from $716 to $438, possibly in response to reports of a Chinese crackdown.

At that moment, a forum member with the nickname "GameKyuubi" decided he wouldn't sell his Bitcoins. Instead, he declared that he would hold them, aware of his limited trading skills and fearing he might miss the right time to get in and out. While writing the post, he was already heavily intoxicated and made a small typo in the title. Instead of "I AM HOLDING," he accidentally wrote "I AM HODLING."

This humorous mishap turned out to be a happy coincidence and went down in cryptocurrency history. The term " HODL " became synonymous with holding cryptocurrencies long-term, regardless of short-term market fluctuations. It embodies the idea that one should hold on to one's investments despite all uncertainties and fluctuations, similar to how one "holds on dear life" during difficult times in life.

The curious origin story of " HODL " shows how a small glitch can become a powerful and meaningful message for the crypto community. Today, " HODL " is not just a typo, but a symbol of faith in the long-term potential of cryptocurrencies and the community behind them.
